What is Home Technology and why do I need it?

Home Technology is a popular feature of today's "connected home". It refers to simplifying everyday activities, such as watching television or listening to your Ipod. It even allows you to control elements, such as the thermostat, temperature and room lighting. Another benefit is to leave wiring in place for future expansion. Home technology will add value to your home, simplify technology, and allow complete control in every room.

What is your warranty policy?

After installation, our labor is guaranteed for one year. All of the equipment is guaranteed by the manufacturer for a specified time (usually 1-5 years), which we will be happy to contact on your behalf if there is a defect or problem.

What brands do you carry?

Through years of experience, we have narrowed down the brands that we feature. Reasons for choosing the brands we carry are performance, system functionality, company support, and ease of use. Which is best for me - Plasma, LCD, or Projector?

When choosing a television, there is no wrong answer. Each has its own unique advantages and disadvantages and it is the user's needs that determine the best choice. Here are some reasons to choose one display over another.

Plasma: Very vivid colors, wide viewing angles, deeper black levels, capable of reaching VERY large sizes.

LCD: Long lifespan, available in smaller sizes, little glare, good value, light weight, extremely thin design, use a minimal amount of power

Projectors: HUGE screen, portable, very adaptable to your room

There is no "best" overall answer, but the conditions of your home will determine your "best" fit.

Can you retrofit old homes, or must it be new construction?

We are able to perform most installations on existing homes. We have dealt with everything from old Victorian homes to new sub-divisions to large condos. We are always able to find a way to work with any situation.

If you are building a new home, it is good to work with the walls open. It makes the installation invisible to the owner and allows for providing the groundwork for future upgrades.

Why should I calibrate my TV?

1.) Reduce your electricity usage by 20-30% - By making the television operate more efficiently, it uses less power, saving you money. If a television costs $150/year to run, that is a $45 savings every year.

2.) Increase television lifespan 20-30% - Again, by making the television operate less, it increases the lifespan. This 20-30% could result in 2-3 extra years without having to buy a new television.

3.) Prevent damage to your display - Protect yourself against "burn-in" and other common problems with flat-panel displays.

4.) Get what you pay for - A professionally-calibrated television will typically outperform the most expensive un-calibrated television.

5.) You want your TV to look good - The reason you bought the HD television was to enjoy the picture. So, make sure you aren’t missing out on that TV’s true potential. This will also reduce the strain on your eyes and hopefully eliminate those optometrist bills.
